Introduction

T

he season of Lent is the springtime of the Liturgical year. The word of Lent came from the old English word Lectern which means spring. It is a time which brings a feeling of well being and cheer into our lives. It gives us an opportunity of deepening an developing of our spiritual life. In spring the harvest is prepared for by sowing and planting. Let us pray that Gods word may touch our hearts to produce good works, prayers and fasting activities which express a willingness to bring about growth in ones own life.
